Ukraine has expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in deliveries of the promised Patriot air defense missile system, criticizing Romania and the Netherlands. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said both countries were deliberately delaying the delivery of the systems despite previously made commitments.
According to Kuleba, the delay in the delivery of Patriot threatens Ukraine's defense capability, especially in the context of the ongoing conflict. Kyiv insists that Patriot air defense systems are a vital element in protecting Ukrainian airspace from possible attacks. The Ukrainian side expected to promptly receive these systems to strengthen its air defense, but the delivery process has been delayed.
Romania, which was ordered by the US in June this year to transfer one of its two Patriot batteries to Ukraine, has encountered difficulties in implementing the decision. According to sources, the problem is finding qualified operators to operate the system on Ukrainian territory.
