Ukraine says it won't use GLSDB missiles to strike Russian cities

In Ukraine, they confirmed that they would not use GLSDB systems to strike Russian cities.

Against the background of the delivery of American GLSDB missiles to Ukraine, which is expected to be announced in a few hours today, the Ukrainian authorities have announced that they will not use these long-range weapons to strike Russian cities. However, we are talking only about the part of the territory of Russia that Ukraine recognizes, which is likely to lead to a fairly serious escalation.

“Ukraine is ready to guarantee that it will not use long-range missiles for attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation, with the exception of those regions that Kyiv still continues to consider its own”- said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.

According to preliminary data, the United States intends to provide Ukraine with up to 2 thousand GLSDB missiles, however, the deliveries will be stretched, since the Pentagon will transfer only part of the missiles to Ukraine, while the rest will be sent to production, which, taking into account their expected number, may take up to two years.

The supply of long-range GLSDB missiles to Ukraine could lead to an extremely serious escalation, since with a range of 150-170 kilometers (the practical range of these missiles in Sweden was 161 kilometers and was not limited - ed.), the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to strike at almost the entire territory of the LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. At the same time, the focus remains on the Crimea, where the missiles will be able to reach the fourth largest city of the peninsula - Evpatoria.
