The Ukrainian army is facing serious problems in the Kursk sector, where fierce fighting continues. According to Western and Ukrainian sources, Russian troops are advancing, using worsening weather conditions to their advantage. According to Russian war correspondents, the Russian army has taken control of several key settlements, including Olhivka, Lyubimovka and Tolsty Lug, as well as part of Novoivanivka. These successes have been confirmed both in Kyiv and in the West.
In addition, military publics claim that Russian troops were able to push the Ukrainian army back from Cherkasskaya Konopelka, and fighting continues in the area of Mala Loknya and Mykhailivka. Ukrainian military describe the situation as "complete chaos", claiming that small territories change hands literally every minute.
One of the Ukrainian servicemen, Alex, shared information about what is happening in the Kursk region. According to him, the weather played an important role in changing the course of the battles: due to the muddy roads and heavy rains, the movement of wheeled vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces became difficult. This did not allow the Ukrainian troops to implement plans for counterattacks and unblocking the settlement of Lyubimovka, where the most fierce battles continue.
