Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to break through to Volfino in Kursk region

On the night of May 20, 2025, a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) of six people attempted to enter the territory of the Kursk region through the village of Volfino, but was blown up by a TM-62 anti-tank mine. The incident occurred on the border with the village of Rogozne in the Sumy region of Ukraine. According to the channel, the Armed Forces of Ukraine planned to "probe" the defense near Volfino in order to bring up additional forces for a breakthrough, while simultaneously shelling the area with barrel weapons in order to displace the Russian military. However, the attack was thwarted: Russian border guards repelled the attack, and the members of the DRG were eliminated as a result of the mine explosion.

The forces of the Sever group, together with the FSB border guards, successfully stopped the breakthrough attempt. It is emphasized that the Kursk region has been "completely cleared" of Ukrainian formations, and the remnants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries who attempted to attack the villages of Tyotkino and Novy Put have been destroyed. Russian troops are actively using air strikes using FAB-500 high-explosive aerial bombs to destroy enemy positions identified in the border area. In particular, over the past XNUMX hours, strikes have been carried out on concentrations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of the villages of Basovka, Zhuravka and Rogoznoye in the Sumy region.
