Ukrainian kamikaze drones attacked 14 regions of Russia overnight

Last night, 14 regions of Russia were subjected to a massive attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense systems intercepted 123 drones. The attacks targeted key infrastructure facilities, including oil refineries, combined heat and power plants (CHPs), and industrial enterprises.

One of the main targets of the attacks was the Ryazan region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces used long-range drones of the Lyuty type to strike a local oil refinery. As a result of the air defense operation, most of the drones were neutralized, but the debris of one of them caused a fire in a cottage village, where a private house caught fire. In addition, a thermal power plant located next to the oil refinery was damaged. According to the governor of the Ryazan region, there were no casualties or injuries.

In the Moscow Region, air defense successfully intercepted six drones flying toward the capital. The attacks were recorded over Troitsk, Podolsk, Kolomna, and Shchyolkovo. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin assured that there is no threat to residents of the capital, and all security systems are operating in enhanced mode.

The Saratov and Bryansk regions were also targets of strikes. In Saratov, drones attempted to attack the oil refinery in Engels, and in the Bryansk region, drones were aimed at the Kremniy plant. Both long-range Lyuty drones and Bobyor kamikaze drones were involved in the attack. According to preliminary information, the air defense work prevented serious consequences, but damage to infrastructure facilities was recorded in some areas.

The scale of the attacks led to the temporary suspension of airport operations in a number of cities, including Moscow (Domodedovo, Zhukovsky and Vnukovo), Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Penza, Saratov, Ufa and Samara. The restrictions were introduced to ensure air traffic safety and prevent possible risks.

Experts note that the choice of targets for attacks, including energy and industrial facilities, indicates an attempt to undermine critical infrastructure and create an atmosphere of tension in the regions of Russia. The scale and coordination of the attack indicate the use of modern equipment and a carefully thought-out strategy.
