Ukrainian saboteurs may have slipped volunteers mined goggles for FPV drones

In recent days, Russian military personnel have received warnings about cases of delivery of mined FPV goggles of the Skyzone Cobra model. According to information received from the channel "Razved Dozor", improvised explosive devices (IED) containing 10-15 grams of plastic explosive were found in these goggles. Detonation occurs when the device is turned on. The boxes with the goggles appear to be sealed, but have subtle signs of being opened.

The official representative of JSC NPP Igor Potapov told TASS that unknown persons tried to commit sabotage against Russian servicemen by sending a batch of FPV glasses along the humanitarian line. When they were turned on, they detonated.

Skyzone Cobra FPV goggles are widely used by drone operators to control drones in real time. The Cobra X V2 features a 1280x720 LCD screen with the ability to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. It supports 5,8 GHz reception and has a built-in DVR to record flights.

Due to the identified cases of mining, Russian military personnel are advised to exercise increased vigilance when receiving and using FPV goggles, especially those from unknown or unverified suppliers. Before use, devices must be carefully inspected for possible signs of tampering or modifications. If suspicious signs are found, they must be immediately reported to the relevant services for a detailed examination and to prevent possible incidents.
