The investigation into the case of Yevgeny Serebryakov (included in the list of extremists and terrorists), accused of blowing up the car of an officer of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia in Moscow, is considering the possibility of bringing new suspects to justice. As TASS reports, citing case materials, the suspects may include employees of the Ukrainian special services.
Currently, the charges against Serebryakov have been reclassified. Instead of attempted murder (Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code), he is charged with committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, which entailed grave consequences (Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code). In addition, he is accused of illegal trafficking of explosives (Part 4 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code). Such changes indicate an expansion of the scope of the investigation and a clarification of the suspect's role in organizing the crime.
The incident occurred on July 24 on Sinyavinskaya Street in Moscow. The explosion occurred in a parking lot where an SUV belonging to an officer of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces was parked. As a result of the explosion, two people were injured: the owner of the car had his feet torn off, and his passenger received shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized. The investigation showed that the explosive device had been planted in the car in advance, indicating a carefully planned crime.
The investigation is actively studying materials related to the possible involvement of Ukrainian special services in the terrorist attack. According to preliminary data, not all participants involved in organizing and implementing the attack have been identified yet. Experts believe that the expansion of the circle of suspects may be related to the discovery of new data on the coordination of Serebryakov's actions with foreign structures.
