Ukrainian military began to use American missiles DATM-88

The Armed Forces of Ukraine began to use DATM-88 cruise missiles.

In addition to the use of cruise anti-radar missiles AGM-88, the Ukrainian military began to actively use DATM-88 missiles. The latter have increased radar visibility, but do not have a warhead, which makes it possible to identify air defense systems operating in a passive mode in order to subsequently destroy them.

It is known that in addition to the AGM-88 cruise missiles (and, according to preliminary data, we are talking about the AGM-88B variant), the Ukrainian military also received a batch of DATM-88 cruise training missiles. The latter are training and do not carry a combat charge, however, due to their higher radar visibility, they allow air defense systems to switch from passive to active mode, which, when launched jointly with AGM-88 cruise missiles, makes it possible to detect radars and anti-aircraft missile systems.

It is noteworthy that the unexploded anti-radar cruise missile recently discovered in the Kherson region could be just a training version of such ammunition, since there is no direct indication on the rocket that we are talking about a rocket with an inert warhead AGM-88.

At the moment, there are quite a few questions about how many anti-radar missiles and aircraft capable of launching them are in service with Ukraine, which does not allow us to assess the real threat from the supply of such weapons from the United States.
