Ukrainian military received long-range missiles for Himars systems

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have new missiles for Himars systems.

The United States transferred to Ukraine ER GMLRS and ATACMS Block I long-range missiles for multiple launch rocket systems, which allowed the Ukrainian military to increase the effective range of Himars multiple launch rocket systems from 86 kilometers to 120 and 150 kilometers, respectively. According to the deputy commander of the first corps of the People's Militia of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, the Armed Forces of Ukraine already have such missiles.

“Strikes are delivered by various systems - HIMARS, which has a declared flight range of up to 70 kilometers. We assume that missiles with a range of 120 and 150 (kilometers) already exist in Ukraine. They are also fired with shells of 155 mm caliber, but the artillery systems are different. There are American, there are German, French, Polish. The caliber standard is the same so different systems can be used.”, - said Eduard Basurin, deputy commander of the first corps of the People's Militia of the DPR.

We are talking about ER GMLRS missiles, which are an upgraded version of the M31 missiles, with a range of hitting targets up to 150 kilometers, and ATACMS Block I, which are capable of hitting targets at distances of about 120 kilometers.

Eduard Basurin could not confirm this information, however, in all likelihood, the Ukrainian military began to use such weapons from much greater distances, thereby leaving less chances for the successful operation of counter-battery systems.

Washington has not officially announced the supply of such missiles, however, recently the United States has been hiding weapons supplied to Ukraine, as happened with cruise missiles, armored vehicles, etc.
