The Ukrainian military told who manages the American MLRS Himars

The Ukrainian military told who actually controls the M142 Himars MLRS that arrived in Ukraine.

The American M-142 Himars multiple launch rocket systems, which arrived in Ukraine 72 hours ago, are under the control of officers of the 27th Rocket Artillery Brigade. Specially for the control of NATO weapons, separate units were formed that operate independently of each other - each unit is armed with two combat vehicles. Moreover, the units themselves are deployed independently of each other - one is located in the south of Ukraine (according to a number of data, on the territory of the Odessa region - ed.), while the second is located in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

To date, it is known that the 27th rocket artillery brigade was formed in 2008, however, in the first weeks, almost all weapons were rendered unusable. It is probably for this reason that the American M142 Himars MLRS were transferred to this particular unit.

The first use of Himars MLRS in Ukraine

Previously, it was assumed that American instructors or mercenaries would manage the American Himars MLRS transferred to Ukraine, however, judging by current data, it was the Ukrainian military who were involved in this. Nevertheless, fire control is carried out by the American side, which, by the way, was previously confirmed by the US Department of Defense.
