The Ukrainian military was able to capture the Kh-55 cruise missile.

During massive missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine, one of the missiles fell into a lake near Kyiv. After servicing the rocket under water, the Ukrainian military managed to retrieve it from the lake and, as it turned out, the latter has minimal damage to its structure, which can now allow it to be studied.

In the presented photo you can see the design of the Kh-55 cruise missile or its modern counterpart Kh-555. The rocket has a number of damages, however, the latter are not critical. This does not allow us to claim that the rocket fell into the water due to the fact that it was hit by fire from the ground.

Judging by the photo, the damage to the rocket is minimal. At the same time, it can be seen that the head part was not actually affected. This makes it possible to obtain information about its control systems in order to study the capabilities of a cruise missile and develop in the future possible methods to counter such missiles, including air defense systems.

The Kh-55 and Kh-555 missiles are considered air-launched strategic missiles. They can be launched by the Tu-95 and Tu-160 strategic bombers.
