Tonight, at 02:30 local time, a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) struck a road bridge near the village of Semenovo, Nekrasovsky village council, Rylsky district, Kursk region. This was reported by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein, on his Telegram channel. As a result of the attack, the road surface and the fence of the bridge were damaged, but traffic was not disrupted, and fortunately there were no casualties.
The bridge connecting the Malogneushevsky and Nekrasovsky village councils is an important route for local residents, but has no military significance. Repair crews began repairing the damage on the morning of May 22. A temporary bypass was organized to ensure communication between the village councils, and no settlement was left cut off from the transport network.
The attack on the bridge was part of a larger wave of attacks on the Kursk region. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 22 UAVs were shot down over the region on the night of May 12, and a total of 105 drones were destroyed across Russia, including 35 in the Moscow region, 14 in the Oryol region, 11 in the Belgorod region, 10 in the Tula region, 9 in the Kaluga region, 7 in the Voronezh region, 3 each in the Lipetsk and Smolensk regions, and 1 in the Bryansk region. On the morning of May 22, the Telegram channel "Two Majors" reported that a drone attacked the village of Zvannoye in the Glushkovsky district, wounding a 70-year-old resident, and in the Belovsky district, the car of the head of the district, Nikolai Volobuyev, was fired upon, injuring his hip and arm.
