The Ukrainian Armed Forces are testing a new analogue of a glide bomb on a Su-24 frontline bomber. According to military sources, the test flights are being accompanied by Su-27 fighters, which demonstrates the importance of testing and reliability of the system in combat conditions.
According to the published photographs, the bomb being tested may be equipped with a compact turbojet engine (TRDD), which allows the aerial bomb not only to glide, but also to cover significant distances with the possibility of flight correction. These tests are being conducted at the stage of checking the joint operation of aviation equipment and a guided aerial bomb with the new UMPK complex.
The bomb's characteristics are not specified, however, sources report that with a turbojet engine it will be able to cover a distance of up to 80-100 kilometers, which is a serious threat.
