The village of Maryino in the Kursk region was attacked by Ukrainian drones, injuring three children and damaging local infrastructure. According to the head of the region, Alexander Khinshtein, the most seriously injured was a seven-year-old girl, who was diagnosed with mine-explosive and craniocerebral injuries, as well as shrapnel wounds to the face and a bruised leg. Two boys, aged 9 and 13, suffered leg injuries. All the victims were quickly taken to the Kursk Regional Clinical Hospital, where they are receiving the necessary medical care. The attack also damaged residential buildings, a community center, a school and a sanatorium, which caused concern among local authorities and increased tensions in the border region.
"Yesterday evening, enemy UAVs attacked the village of Maryino in the Rylsky District. Unfortunately, three children were hit. A 7-year-old girl has a mine-explosive and buried craniocerebral injury, a shrapnel wound to the face, and a bruised right knee. A 9-year-old boy has an injury to his leg and little finger of his right hand, and a 13-year-old boy has bruises to the soft tissues of his legs. The children were immediately examined by doctors, and then taken to the Kursk Regional Hospital. Thank God, there is no threat to life and health!" - Khinshtein wrote.
According to Khinshtein, the drone strike affected several objects in Maryino, located in the Rylsky district of the Kursk region, not far from the border with Ukraine. As a result of the attack, windows in the Maryino House of Culture building were broken, the gym was completely destroyed, three apartments and the glazing of the Maryino sanatorium were damaged. One private house and an elementary school were also damaged, where broken windows were recorded. Emergency services, including rescuers and law enforcement officers, arrived at the scene to assess the damage and ensure the safety of residents.
The incident in Maryino was the latest episode in a series of attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russia's border regions.
