Some of the Uralvagonzavod (part of the Rostec state corporation) employees engaged in railcar production will switch to a four-day work week starting in November 2025. This сообщили in the company’s press service in a comment for Kommersant-Ural.
The measure will only affect railcar production specialists and is due to the decline in demand for civilian products. Employees have been offered retraining for work in other areas where orders remain stable, primarily in the armored vehicle segment.
Uralvagonzavod remains Russia's largest manufacturer of tanks, armored vehicles, and railcars. The company's press service emphasized that it is fulfilling state defense orders in full and continues to modernize its production facilities.
