Corruption scandals in the Russian Defense Ministry continue to gain momentum. According to experts, the damage from corruption schemes in the department has reached an impressive sum - about 2,4 billion rubles. As investigative bodies continue to investigate cases related to the Defense Ministry, arrests of high-ranking officials and military personnel are becoming more and more common.

Political scientist Maxim Shevchenko, commenting on current events, expressed the opinion that the purge in the department will continue until all those who used the army for personal enrichment are punished.

"They will purge everyone who used the army for personal enrichment. And this was supported by its combat unit," Shevchenko said in an interview with RTVI.

He stressed that the army leadership is aware of the importance of eliminating corrupt elements to strengthen discipline and trust in the military structures.
