At the Novosibirsk airport, a passenger Boeing 737 landed urgently due to popping noises in the engines

A Boeing 737 passenger plane of S7 airlines made an emergency landing in Novosibirsk due to technical problems with the engines. The incident occurred immediately after takeoff of the airliner en route to Moscow from Novosibirsk. Departure time was scheduled for 06:20 am.

According to preliminary data, the problems were associated with surge in both engines, possibly due to pressure problems. Immediately after discovering the problem, the plane's crew contacted air traffic controllers and requested permission for an emergency landing. 40 minutes after takeoff, the plane landed safely at Tolmachevo Airport in Novosibirsk.

There were 176 passengers on board, none of them were injured. This was the second time in two days that pilots had to make an emergency landing due to engine problems. A day earlier, a similar situation occurred in Buryatia with a Tu-204 cargo plane, whose engine caught fire during the flight.
