Aircraft arrival and departure operations at Sochi International Airport have been temporarily suspended. Authorities justify these measures by citing the need to protect aviation from potential risks.
Artem Korenyako, a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency, reported this on the Telegram channel.
"Sochi Airport: Temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft have been introduced." “He noted, emphasizing that the decision was made solely to ensure flight safety.
According to preliminary reports from several sources, the incident is related to a recorded threat from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Sochi and Adler areas. Russian monitoring systems, including the Kupol Rossii channel, issued alerts in the evening: at 21:11 PM Moscow time, a "UAV threat" was issued for Sochi and adjacent areas in the Krasnodar Krai, and at 21:13 PM, a similar warning was issued for Adler and the surrounding area. These alerts confirm the risk, but official details about the incident have not yet been released.
Passengers are advised to track flight status through official airline channels.
