Two prisoners escaped from a penal colony in the Amur Region

In the Bureysky District of the Amur Region, the search continues for two convicts who escaped from a penal colony. The men, previously sentenced to forced labor, left the territory of the FKU IK-2 institution this week. Law enforcement officers are currently conducting active search operations to detain the fugitives.

According to available information, one of the escapees is 25-year-old Nikita Ivanov, convicted of illegal entry into a home and car theft and sentenced to four years in prison. His companion in the escape, 21-year-old Igor Chumak, received a term of one year and two months for false denunciation and battery. Both prisoners were under supervision, but managed to take advantage of the favorable moment to leave the territory of the colony.

The incident marks the third prison break in Russia in the last month, raising questions about the situation.
