On the evening of August 24, a serious reed fire occurred in Bataysk, near Salt Lake. According to official sources, the fire started around 21:00, and thick plumes of smoke quickly spread throughout the city, becoming visible not only from various areas of Bataysk, but also from neighboring Rostov-on-Don.

The situation has caused concern among residents of the city and its surroundings, but there is still no accurate information about the scale of the fire and the degree of its danger. At the moment, it is unknown how critical the situation is and it remains questionable what exact reasons could have caused the fire.

A number of Ukrainian sources hastened to link the incident with a possible drone attack, but such statements have not received official confirmation.
