On the night of September 6-7, 2024, at least eight unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including seven kamikaze drones and one reconnaissance drone, entered the territory of Belarus, which was the first case in the history of observations. This was reported by the telegram channel "Belaruski Gayun", specializing in monitoring military activity and security.
The first drone crossed the border of Belarus from the Chernihiv region of Ukraine at about 23:20 in the direction of the city of Loyev. After staying in Belarusian airspace for about 40 minutes, it returned back to Ukraine, heading in the direction of the Kyiv reservoir. This was only the first of a series of nighttime incidents involving drones that were recorded throughout the night.
The next drone visits occurred between 02:45 and 05:54. One of the most notable cases occurred at 05:16, when a drone was spotted for the first time in the entire observation period in the Brest region, near Pinsk. This drone continued moving north and reached the Grodno region, flying about 200 km over the territory of Belarus.
In addition, at around 08:13, a reconnaissance UAV entered Belarus.
It is reported that fighters and helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force repeatedly took off from the airfields of Baranovichi and Machulishchi. According to sources, the fighters took off four times, and the helicopters took off twice. Their activity was recorded not only in the south of the country, but also in the north - in the area of Ostrovets and Vileika, which indicates high air defense activity throughout the country.
