In Belarus, the territories of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions have not yet been recognized as territories of the Union State

A key Russian ally has not yet commented on the recognition of new Russian territories.

The Belarusian side has not yet confirmed the recognition of the results of the referendum, as well as the inclusion of the territories of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the Union State. This fact can seriously complicate the process of including these regions into the Union State and the subsequent interaction between Minsk and Moscow.

The information that the new territories will become part of the Union State was announced by the press secretary of Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov.

“The DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions will become the sovereign territory of the Russian Federation, and the agreement on the Union State will also apply to them. At a ceremony in the Kremlin, four agreements will be signed on the admission of new subjects in the Russian Federation.- said Dmitry Peskov.

Official Minsk has not yet officially commented on the results of the referendum. This raises some doubts about whether Belarus will support the current agreements on the Union State, taking into account new subjects. However, this issue will probably be resolved in the very near future, especially considering that Kyiv is ready to show aggression against new territories and Russia will be guaranteed to protect them.
