Yesterday, a tragedy occurred at the Graf Ignatievo airbase in Bulgaria: a combat training aircraft L-39 ZA crashed, killing both pilots. The accident occurred during an air show rehearsal. According to preliminary information, the aircraft was performing complex maneuvers at an extremely low altitude, which prevented the pilots from activating the ejection system in time.
The Bulgarian Defense Ministry has already confirmed the death of the pilots, but the causes of the crash remain unclear. The ministry noted that the plane had recently undergone major repairs and was thoroughly checked before the flight, which makes the situation even more mysterious.
Eyewitnesses to the crash report that the plane was flying at an extremely low altitude, performing maneuvers typical of demonstration flights, but at some point the pilots lost control and the plane crashed into the ground. A special commission of the Bulgarian Defense Ministry will investigate the causes of the disaster, which plans to conduct a thorough review of all the circumstances of the tragedy.
