Anti-drone grills have begun to be installed on ships and boats in the Black Sea.

In the Black Sea, ships and boats have begun installing homemade protective structures, essentially similar to the "barbecues" widely used on land-based vehicles. This measure is aimed at protecting against constant attacks by Ukrainian naval drones.

These "ship grills" are metal grates and arcs installed around the most vulnerable parts of the vessel, such as the wheelhouse and engine room. They are used to protect against attacks from both air and sea drones. Machine gun mounts are also installed on ships to counter drones from the air.

Experts believe that such field modifications help protect ships from light FPV drones, but their effectiveness against larger kamikaze drones remains questionable.
