Ukrainian unmanned boat destroyed in Black Sea

On May 14, 2025, the Telegram channel "Two Majors" reported on a combat operation in the Black Sea, where a naval detachment using the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) "SKAT 350 M" conducted reconnaissance and ensured the destruction of a naval target - an unmanned boat (UBEK) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) - in the area of gas condensate fields. According to the channel, Russian units carry out objective control of the water area, identifying and destroying Ukrainian UEKs, which can be at sea in standby mode for up to several days. Timely detection of boats prevents them from joining into groups to perform combat missions, such as attacks on ships or infrastructure.

The use of the SKAT 350 M UAV highlights the growing role of unmanned systems in Russian Navy operations. This drone, developed by the Kalashnikov Concern, is designed for aerial reconnaissance and is capable of transmitting data in real time, ensuring precise targeting. As TASS reported in March 2025, the SKAT 350 M is actively used in the Black Sea Fleet to monitor waters and detect sabotage groups. In this case, its use made it possible to quickly identify the MBE, after which the target was destroyed, presumably using artillery or attack drones.

Attacks by Ukrainian unmanned boats have become a serious threat to the Russian fleet and infrastructure in the Black Sea. According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), since the beginning of 2024, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have significantly increased the use of unmanned boats.
