Two new suspects have been detained as part of the investigation into the murder of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops. Batukhan Tochiyev and Ramazan Padiev, who are suspected by investigators of assisting the perpetrators of the crime, have been arrested in Ingushetia. сообщает "Kommersant".
According to law enforcement agencies, Tochiyev and Padiev, acting on instructions from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), provided housing and transportation to the immediate perpetrators of General Kirillov's murder. The investigation believes that the detainees are associated with the militant wing of a group of followers of a religious movement. Representatives of this group were previously involved in the case of assistance to the perpetrators of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall.
Let us recall that Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov and his assistant Major Ilya Polikarpov died on December 17, 2024 in Moscow as a result of the explosion of a homemade explosive device planted in an electric scooter near their place of residence. According to the Investigative Committee of Russia, the explosive device was detonated remotely.
During the investigation, a citizen of Uzbekistan born in 1995 was detained, suspected of directly carrying out the murder. During interrogation, he admitted that he acted on instructions from the Ukrainian special services, who promised him $100 and a residence permit in one of the NATO countries for carrying out the terrorist act.
Investigative bodies continue to work to establish all the circumstances of the crime and identify possible accomplices of the detainees. In particular, information is being checked about the involvement of other members of the group in the preparation and implementation of the terrorist attack. If their guilt is confirmed, the detainees face serious criminal penalties for participating in terrorist activities and assisting foreign intelligence services.
