Two Russian Pantsir-S air defense missile systems destroyed in Ethiopia

The geography of the losses of the Russian Pantsir-S air defense missile systems expanded to one more country.

According to foreign and Russian media, two more Russian-made Pantsir-S complexes were destroyed and are no longer subject to restoration. Surprisingly, but the destruction of "Pantsir" is not a combat loss, and, no less interesting, it did not even happen on the territory of a country in a state of military conflict - according to the information provided, two "Pantsir-S" air defense missile systems were destroyed on the territory Ethiopia with one lightning strike.

“Materials have appeared on the Internet claiming that the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems have been put out of action in Ethiopia. The reports say that two Russian-made Pantsir-C1 vehicles "were disabled by lightning strikes." At the same time, it is noted that the "Shells" of the Armed Forces of Ethiopia were located in the area of the "Khidas" ("An-Nahda") hydroelectric power station on the Blue Nile. No additional information is provided ", - reports the Russian information publication Military Review.

Such information is confirmed by a number of other sources, however, experts draw attention to the fact that such combat vehicles are equipped with lightning protection means, and the likelihood that they were both within the radius of damage to a lightning strike is very small, since the complexes themselves are used to protect the dam, and therefore, they should be located at a distance of at least several hundred meters.

Information about the injured and casualties is not given, however, Ethiopia is another country in the world where the Pantsir-S air defense missile system was lost.

My dear, our shells are not protected as shown in the pictures.

In the picture, it's not Pantsir at all, it's Roland on a MAN chassis, and Pantsir should be on KAMAZ.

This photo is for many years. I think the information is also not accurate ...)

And on the Amazon, five such complexes were eaten by crocodiles at once, according to an unnamed expert.
