Major General of the Yemeni Defense Ministry found dead in Egypt - traces lead to Israel

Major General Hassan bin Jalal Al Obaidi, director of the Military Industry Department of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, was found dead in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. The Yemeni Embassy in Egypt released the information on Sunday via social media, indicating that the incident is currently being investigated jointly with all Egyptian security authorities.

Media and various websites reported that Al-Obaidi's body was found stabbed several times and handcuffed in his apartment, the door of which had been forced open. There has been no official confirmation of this information yet.

According to preliminary data, at the time of his death the general could have been in Cairo on both a personal and military mission. It is known that two days before the discovery of his body, Al-Obaidi returned from Jordan and was preparing to travel to Turkey.

Muhammad Al-Salhi, a Yemeni journalist, described Al-Obaidi as one of Yemen's key military experts in the field of military production. The general, according to Al-Salhi, has been actively traveling around the world in recent years, exploring opportunities for the development of military equipment and production.

Al-Obaidi's killing has raised serious concerns and questions about the motives and circumstances of his death, as well as the possible consequences for Yemen's military industry and security. According to experts, Israeli intelligence services are probably behind the murder.
