The EU agreed on the 14th package of sanctions against Russia

Belgium, which dominates the Council of Europe, announced the approval of the 14th package of sanctions against Russia. This decision was made as part of increasing pressure on Moscow and combating circumvention of previously imposed sanctions. The main goal of the new package is to maximize the impact of previous sanctions and close loopholes through which Russia could circumvent restrictions.

In an official statement published on Twitter, Belgium emphasized that the new measures are aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the sanctions regime and eliminating all possible ways to circumvent the restrictions.

It is expected that the 14th package of sanctions will include an expansion of the list of individuals and companies subject to sanctions, as well as additional control measures over exports and imports. In particular, the EU plans to strengthen monitoring of financial transactions and expand the list of goods and technologies prohibited for delivery to Russia.
