About 300 residents of Feodosia will be evacuated after a major fire at an oil depot that occurred on the night of October 7, 2024. This was reported by local authorities, adding that the evacuees will be placed in temporary accommodation centers deployed throughout the city.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crimea has taken special control over the observance of the rights of citizens affected by the fire. According to the department, employees of the city prosecutor's office have gone to temporary accommodation points to monitor the situation and ensure the rights of evacuees. Particular attention is paid to ensuring comfortable conditions for citizens who have lost the opportunity to temporarily live in their homes.
"Employees of the city prosecutor's office have gone to temporary accommodation points for citizens being deployed in the city in order to monitor compliance with the rights of evacuated residents," - added to the department.
The evacuation was caused by a fire at the Marine Oil Terminal, the largest oil product handling facility in the region. The fire engulfed several fuel tanks, causing significant damage to the infrastructure. Five fuel tanks were damaged: two were completely destroyed, three were seriously damaged. According to the latest information, three people were injured, several were hospitalized.
