Finland says it sees no risk of escalation on border with Russia

Finland is not worried about the possible strengthening of Russian troops near the border.

Finland's foreign minister, Elina Valtonen, said the country was not worried about a potential increase in Russian troops near the Finnish-Russian border. This statement was made in response to a warning from the Russian authorities about the possibility of strengthening the military contingent in the region.

Since the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, Russia appears to have paid less attention to its western borders, Valtonen said, leaving them "almost undefended." The Finnish Foreign Ministry emphasizes that it does not see a direct threat to its security and intends to continue the dialogue with Russia at various levels.

Nevertheless, given that the weapons of NATO countries are located near the Russian border, Russia will have to level such a problem.
