The State Duma stated that Trump's victory will not affect the course of the special operation

Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrei Kartapolov stated that the election of Donald Trump as US President will not affect the course of the special military operation conducted by Russia. In an interview for SHOT, Kartapolov expressed confidence that political changes in the US will not change Russia's strategic objectives and approaches within the framework of the SMO.

Kartapolov noted that despite the high attention paid to the American elections in Russia, the change of the White House owner is not able to influence the goals and objectives facing the Russian military. According to him, the special operation has a long-term and well-thought-out strategy that does not depend on who occupies the post of US President, and Russia will adhere to the intended course.

The Russian armed forces are focused on accomplishing their missions based on internal resources and national interests rather than external political changes.
