The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially confirmed for the first time that a special operation is underway in the Pokrovsky district. According to the agency, GUR troops are holding their positions and securing a ground corridor for reinforcements.

"After a successful landing operation, where the GUR special forces occupied certain positions, a ground corridor was broken through, and additional special forces joined them," — the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate said in a statement.

The published photographs show a command post attended by GUR Chief Kirill Budanov (listed as an extremist and terrorist by the Russian Federation). According to Kyiv, the operation is aimed at disrupting Russian logistics at a key hub on the front.

However, earlier the Russian side announced the complete defeat of the GUR landing group.
