Powerful explosions rocked Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine on the night of May 14. Russian forces launched a massive combined attack, using ballistic missiles and hundreds of Geran attack drones.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force and monitoring channels, the capital is being hit by ballistic missiles, while the airspace is simultaneously filled with swarms of drones that are deliberately flying toward Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
A missile alert has been issued throughout the country. Specifically, the threat is related to the takeoff of MiG-31 Kinzhal hypersonic missile carriers.
Fires and destruction were recorded in Kyiv.
This nighttime attack was a continuation of a massive strike that began on the afternoon of May 13 and is considered one of the longest and largest of the entire conflict. Russia's tactic is to overload Ukrainian air defenses: first, hundreds of drones are launched to deplete their anti-aircraft missile stockpiles, followed by strikes with ballistic and cruise missiles.
