On the evening of November 11, in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow, a nine-year-old schoolboy suffered severe hand injuries after an explosion while picking up a wad of money from the ground at a playground. According to an eyewitness interviewed by RIA Novosti, the device detonated in the child's hands, severing several fingers. The boy was on his way to practice when the incident occurred.
A coach at the sports club where the victim was attending confirmed the incident in a conversation with the Telegram channel "Beware, News."
"I left the hall and saw a boy lying on the pavement with one hand covered in blood. I asked if he needed help, but an ambulance was already there." — the man said.
He noted that he knew nothing about the explosive device.
The child was hospitalized in serious condition, and doctors are working to save his hand. Law enforcement is conducting an investigation; the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Investigative Committee have not yet made any official comments.
Similar cases involving "traps" in the form of money or toys have been recorded in Russia before: in 2023, a teenager in Moscow lost his fingers after picking up a "bill" containing a firecracker. Experts attribute these incidents to hooliganism or terrorist attacks.
