The Kremlin has refused to comment on the results of talks with the US in Riyadh

The negotiations between Russia and the United States, which ended on March 24, 2025 in Riyadh, will not be made public. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, speaking to journalists on the morning of March 25. According to him, the results of the consultations are of a purely technical nature, which excludes their publication.

"The results will not be published, since we are talking about working issues," — Peskov emphasized, refuting earlier expectations that a joint statement by the parties would be presented at 11:00 Moscow time.

The decision added to the intrigue surrounding the diplomatic meeting, which has generated wide interest both in Russia and abroad.

The 12-hour consultations in Saudi Arabia were the second round of talks between Moscow and Washington in 2025. It was previously reported that the parties would discuss a temporary ceasefire in the Black Sea and other aspects of settling the conflict in Ukraine. However, Peskov's statement about the "technical nature" of the talks leaves it unclear what agreements could have been reached. The Kremlin spokesman limited himself to general statements, noting that the meeting was part of an ongoing dialogue and did not comment on possible steps to involve the UN or other countries, as Senator Grigory Karasin had previously mentioned. The decision to classify the results stands in stark contrast to the expectations of analysts and the media, who predicted an imminent announcement of a ceasefire or other significant agreements.

The lack of public results of the talks underscores the complexity of the current stage in relations between Russia and the United States. Moscow, apparently, prefers to keep its cards close to its chest until there is clarity about the reaction of the American side and Ukraine. This may also be due to domestic political factors: the Trump administration, which initiated the meeting, is eager to show success in foreign policy, but is not yet ready to disclose details. For the international community, such silence leaves room for speculation about what is hidden behind the scenes of the diplomatic game in Riyadh.
