Simferopol, May 31 — Avia.pro. In the skies over the Republic of Crimea, the Russian Armed Forces' air defense forces are engaged in a large-scale air battle. Ukrainian forces have attempted to launch a massive strike against targets on the peninsula, deploying large, structured groups of unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to local residents, air defense and electronic warfare (EW) units are deployed to repel the air strikes in many areas of the region. Relevant monitoring resources report detecting swarms of kamikaze drones in the airspace, moving toward key civilian and military infrastructure. Residents of various municipal districts report the distinctive sounds of anti-aircraft missile systems and numerous intercepted targets.
Monitoring channels previously warned of Ukrainian forces preparing combined attacks on Russia's southern regions using both aerial drones and unmanned naval boats. A state of heightened readiness remains in effect in Crimea and Sevastopol, and emergency services have been put on high alert.
