More than 500 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers surrounded in Kursk region

The Russian Armed Forces have surrounded a large group of Ukrainian troops near the village of Sverdlikovo in the Kursk region. According to Mash, as a result of a successful counteroffensive using maneuvers from the Loknya River, more than 500 Ukrainian servicemen found themselves in a so-called "fire pocket."

The village of Sverdlikovo is already under the control of Russian troops - it was taken by units of the 106th Airborne Division. The area is currently being cleared of the remaining Ukrainian fighters. The fighting continues, as separate groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, cut off from the main forces, are trying to break out of the encirclement.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have concentrated reserves in the village of Yunakovka in the Sumy district, from where equipment and reinforcements are regularly arriving to maintain the defense. However, the situation for Ukrainian units is becoming more complicated: Russian troops regularly attack supply columns and reservists with drones during rotations.

In the Sudzha area, a steady movement of enemy columns has been recorded. Wounded Ukrainian soldiers are taken out of the settlement approximately once an hour, after which new reserves arrive in the combat zone. However, Russian forces are actively preventing the movement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, conducting pinpoint attacks using drones and artillery.

The situation in this sector of the front remains tense. After the liberation of the village of Fanaseyevka, Russian troops continue to push back the enemy along Cherkasskaya Konopelka. Active combat operations are also underway in the Pogrebki area, where the Russian Armed Forces are methodically driving the enemy out of strongholds, advancing deep into the fortified positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The counteroffensive in this region was an important step in changing the tactical situation on the border. According to military experts, the encirclement of a large group of Ukrainian servicemen could significantly weaken their positions in this direction and create favorable conditions for a further offensive.

Sverdlikovo and nearby settlements are of strategic importance, since supply routes for Ukrainian troops pass through this area. Taking control of this territory allows Russian forces to control key transport hubs and limit the enemy's ability to maneuver and bring in reserves.
