On May 19, 2026, Kursk Region Governor Alexander Khinshtein summarized the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attacks on the region over the past 24 hours. According to him, Russian air defense systems shot down 108 Ukrainian drones. In addition, 171 attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the region's territory were recorded.

The attack on the evening of May 18 in the village of Markovo in the Glushkovsky district had particularly grave consequences. A Ukrainian drone targeted a private home with civilians in the yard. As a result of the strike, a 68-year-old woman sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.

The governor's reports of 108 downed drones and 171 attacks supplement previously published data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, which on the night of May 19 reported the destruction of 315 Ukrainian drones over 14 Russian regions, including the Kursk region.
