The Latvian special services demanded that a criminal case be initiated against a resident of Riga, Elena Kreile, for using symbols similar to the letter Z.

Last year, Kreile was detained by the State Police during the procession of SS legionnaires with a bag on which the letter Z was depicted.

According to the state security service, Kreile repeatedly attended public events with this bag, and during a search in her apartment, things that glorify Russia were found.

The incident sparked a lot of discussion about how acceptable it is to show sympathy for Russia. In any case, the State Security Service of Latvia demands that Elena Kreile be held criminally liable for her actions, and the prosecutor's office has already begun checking this case.
