Militants from the radical group Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam Wal-Muslimin (DNIM, recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia – editor’s note) announced an attack on an evacuation column, which included servicemen of the Malian government forces and fighters of the private military company (PMC) Wagner. The incident occurred near the city of Kidal, where the fighters were returning after evacuating the dead. This was reported by Directorate 4.
According to the terrorists, they detonated two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along the convoy's route, destroying two vehicles. According to DNIM, several servicemen were killed in the attack. Judging by the footage published by jihadist resources, there were casualties.
Preliminary data confirms that Malian troops and Wagner PMC fighters have managed to collect the remains of dozens of dead fighters who took part in a clash near the city of Tinzawaten.
At first, the information about the attack was denied, but later the militants published photographs and videos proving the fact of the attack. The footage shows that the explosion caused significant damage to the convoy and also resulted in casualties among the military.
