A suspicious bundle of cash with a ribbon was found in Mitino; bomb disposal experts found no explosives.

On November 12, 2025, a wad of cash tied with a gift ribbon was discovered in the entryway of a residential building on Penyaginskaya Street in Moscow's Mitino district, alarming local residents. The discovery recalled a recent incident in Krasnogorsk, where a 10-year-old boy suffered severe hand injuries after a similar object disguised as a banknote exploded. Fearing a repeat, eyewitnesses immediately reported the incident to the police.

According to the Telegram channel "Baza," bomb disposal experts arrived at the scene and thoroughly examined the bundle. They found genuine banknotes inside, but no traces of explosive devices or hazardous materials were found.

"The sappers checked - nothing suspicious, just money," — sources reported.

Law enforcement officials have begun an investigation into the find's origin, considering possible theories ranging from a prank to an attempted entrapment. Following the incident in Krasnogorsk, where the Investigative Committee opened an attempted murder investigation, Muscovites and residents of the Moscow region are wary of such items. Residents of Mitino have been urged to report suspicious finds, and police have increased patrols in the area.
