Moscow has published evidence of violations of the Geneva Conventions by Ukrainian military

A report on the cruel treatment of Russian servicemen captured by Ukrainian forces was presented in the Russian capital. The document, prepared under the leadership of the Chairman of the International Public Tribunal on Crimes of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis, Maksym Grigoriev, was presented to the public on March 21, 2025. The report is based on personal accounts of 80 Russian soldiers and officers released from captivity during recent exchanges. Their testimonies, collected and systematized by the tribunal, indicate systematic violations of the Geneva Conventions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), including the use of torture and inhuman treatment of prisoners of war.

Maxim Grigoryev, speaking at a press conference in Moscow, emphasized that the presented data is based on direct testimony from victims, whose stories were carefully checked and documented. According to him, the servicemen spoke about cases of physical violence, psychological pressure and sophisticated abuse to which they were subjected in captivity. The report emphasizes that such actions are contrary to international standards for the treatment of prisoners of war, enshrined in the Geneva Conventions of 1949, which prohibit torture, humiliation and any form of cruel treatment. Grigoryev noted that the collected materials were transferred to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for further investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators, and were also sent to international organizations to inform the world community.
