In the capital's Yuzhnoye Butovo district, unknown assailants defaced a monument to the first president of Chechnya, Akhmat Kadyrov, installed on a street named in his honor. The incident occurred on the night of November 13, and in the morning, municipal services discovered traces of vandalism. According to the Baza publication, employees quickly cleaned the inscription before the paint had time to dry completely, which allowed the monument to remain in its original form without visible signs of damage.
Among the versions of the motives for the attack, one is being considered about the possible involvement of Ukrainian swindlers, who, according to some sources, could have incited the act of vandalism. However, there has been no official confirmation of this version yet and further investigation of the incident is underway.
This is not the first case of such actions against monuments associated with historical and public figures, which raises the question of the need to strengthen security measures and video surveillance in areas where monuments and cultural sites are located.
