A video posted on Telegram channels captured the moment a Russian Geran-3 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) evaded a Ukrainian Yak-52 training aircraft scrambled to destroy it. The incident occurred over the Chernihiv region, where the Ukrainian side attempted to disrupt the drone's flight.

The footage shows the Geranium-3 picking up speed, catching up with the Yak-52, and then overtaking it, leaving the aircraft behind. Despite maneuvering, the Ukrainian pilot was unable to reach an attack position. The Yak-52, not equipped with standard weapons for such missions, continued flying through the clouds without causing damage to the drone.

Experts attribute the failure to the limited speed and maneuverability of the Yak-52, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces primarily use for training. There have been no official comments from the parties to the conflict.
