Last night, Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 19 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flying over seven regions of the country, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
According to official data, nine drones were shot down over the Volgograd region, three each over the Bryansk and Kursk regions, and one each over the Belgorod, Voronezh, Oryol, and Saratov regions.
In the Volgograd region, where the highest number of interceptions were recorded, residents of Kotovo reported explosions and flashes in the night sky. A gas processing plant was suspected of being the target of the attack. Regional Governor Andrei Bocharov confirmed that debris from one of the drones caused a fire at a fuel and energy facility. The fire was quickly extinguished, and there were no injuries. Emergency services are currently assessing the damage.
