Norwegian police in Nordland County have detained three German citizens on suspicion of flying a drone within a 5-kilometer restricted zone around Rossvoll Airport in the north of the country, according to the German newspaper Bild.

The incident occurred amid an investigation into several drone sightings near airports, military bases, and strategic infrastructure facilities. The suspects—three men—were released shortly after their arrest. Law enforcement officials declined to comment on the details of the incident, including the model of the drone.

In recent weeks, Europe has seen an increase in incidents involving unidentified drones over sensitive areas. Ukraine and its Western partners attribute these flights to Russian intelligence services, although no convincing evidence has been presented.
