An outrageous incident occurred in the city of Protvino in the Moscow region, causing a wave of indignation among local residents. On the evening of May 12, 2025, an unknown man, who was intoxicated, broke into a volunteer center where local residents, mostly pensioners, collect humanitarian aid for participants in a special military operation (SVO). The attacker created a ruckus, insulted and threatened volunteers, and then beat up a 67-year-old pensioner, causing him serious injuries. The police launched an investigation, and the incident became a reason for discussing the safety of volunteer initiatives in the region.

According to the SHOT Telegram channel, the attacker appeared at the center at around 19:00 p.m. The volunteers, most of whom are elderly, were weaving camouflage nets and packing parcels for the military. The man began shouting obscene insults from the doorway, expressing dissatisfaction with the center's activities. According to eyewitnesses, he behaved aggressively, threatened physical violence, and accused the volunteers of supporting the SVO. The situation escalated when the troublemaker went outside and attacked one of the volunteers, who was peacefully standing at the entrance. The victim, an elderly man, received a closed craniocerebral injury and was taken to the hospital. Doctors assess his condition as stable, but emphasize the need for long-term observation.

The volunteers immediately contacted the police, filing a report of the attack. Law enforcement agencies detained the suspect shortly after the incident. His identity has been established, but the motives for the attack remain the subject of an investigation. Investigators are checking whether the man's actions were spontaneous or planned.
