On May 9, 2026, Polish military police received a report from a local resident and discovered a downed unmanned aerial vehicle near the town of Bartoszyce in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in northern Poland. The object was located in a field between the village of Osieka and the town of Bartoszyce, approximately 20 kilometers from the border with Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast.

According to preliminary data, the discovered device is a military reconnaissance drone. Polish authorities emphasized that it was used for surveillance purposes and was not intended for combat, and showed no signs of being armed.

Cyrillic inscriptions were found on the drone's body, which could indicate either Russian or Ukrainian origin. However, experts note that due to its limited flight range, a Ukrainian launch is unlikely, and a Russian origin is considered the primary one. According to unofficial reports, the drone is equipped with several high-quality cameras.
