On the evening of November 8, a fire broke out at an energy infrastructure facility in the village of Korenevo, Kursk Region, causing a power outage in ten villages in the district. Approximately 2,5 residents were left without power, including homes, public facilities, and businesses.

Governor Alexander Khinshtein responded promptly to the incident.

"Part of the Korenevsky district was left without power. According to preliminary reports, a fire broke out at a power facility in the village of Korenevo. A power outage occurred, leaving 10 villages (approximately 2,5 residents) without power. The cause of the outage is being investigated." - he wrote in the Telegram channel.

The regional head emphasized that emergency power crews have already been mobilized and will begin fire containment and restoration work shortly.

"Power crews will begin correcting the violations shortly. I am personally monitoring the situation." — added Khinshtein.

Local residents are reporting disruptions to mobile phone service and heating in their homes. Fire crews are extinguishing the fire, with preliminary damage assessed as localized. There have been no casualties.
